What are sketchbooks for? Drawing huge aeroplanes, and space suits. And clocks. And cathode ray tubes. And working steam engines in massive galleries.

Crammed with fascinating objects and great stories from medicine, mathematics, genetics, communication and astronomy, The Science Museum has inspired curious people for over a century and a half. Our Sketchmob 2018 programme begins at one of The Science Museum Lates evenings.

The museum closes at 6:00pm, and then re-opens again at 6:45pm for the Lates evenings (please note their Lates policy states adults only.) Arrive at 6:45, go through the main entrance, continue on through the bag -check, and then meet other Sketchmobbers near the souvenir shop. If this is your first time be assured you will spot others with sketchbooks and that’s all you need to know you are in the right place. Nuno and Trevor will give a quick greeting, give out a couple of drawing tips, then we sketch. We will meet up again at 8:30 to look at drawings and hear how everybody got on.
